Health and Exercise
Hi Lovely Ladies,
We are often reminded of the importance of health and exercise in our daily lives. I?m wondering if any of you have had this ?ideal? picture of what life would be like after retirement? I know I had a disillusioned picture of ?kicking back? and just taking it easy, and enjoying life, (not that I?m retired yet mind you!)
The truth is, life doesn?t always turn out the same way as we were taught to believe. And no one seems to tell you what it?s really like after retirement, until you get there and find out for yourselves. Health and exercise remains just as important, probably even more so, to maintain. These days, the pace of life doesn?t seem to slow down either.
LIFE JUST GETS BUSIER
In our younger years, the idea that our bodies might ?slow down?, expand, and generally be affected by gravity, doesn?t really ?compute? in our minds. However, now that we are reaching those ?later? years in our life, we are discovering the cold hard facts that fitness over 50 needs to be kept up, if you want to maintain a quality lifestyle.? If we don?t look after our health and exercise, things do start to ?fall apart?!
GREAT EXERCISE PROGRAMS
There are great exercise programs around that are very workable for the over 50?s age group. One program that I have discovered, that works really well for me,is a series of exercise dvd?s by Joyce Vedral. As you will see in this excert from one of her dvd?s, the exercises can be adapted to suit individual needs and levels.
Joyce has a number of exercise dvd?s that target different areas of the body, as well as complete body workout routines.
The wonderful thing about Joyce?s series is that she strongly promotes health and exercise in a way that is fun and quite ?doable?. I don?t know if thats even a real word, but I would like to have said ?easy?, but it still takes a bit of discipline and determination to stick at a regular exercise routine, so that it becomes a habit.
JOYCE EXPLAINS
In the dvd?s, Joyce explains the routines and how to get the best out of it. She gives alternative exercises for those just starting out, and there are a number of spots where beginners can chose to stop at that point, until they build up their own fitness levels. They are a great way to exercise in the comfort of your home, with minimal equipment. Joyce also shows alternative ways to do some of the exercises for those who may have different needs, due to age, injuries etc. You will find much more information at her website
EXERCISE THE FUN WAY
Some of you may be like me, and find it easier to exercise while following along with a dvd. Others may find it easier to watch an exercise dvd, and then be disciplined enough to get into an exercise routine without having to follow a dvd.
Which ever way works best for you, make it a habit to get into an exercise routine. The benefits of maintaining your fitness levels, and your emotional health, far outweigh the discipline required. You will look and feel great when you determine to establish good health and exercise habits, and Joyce?s dvd series of exercises helps you to achieve just that!
